Referat

A 'Referat' is an oral presentation of the topic in a nutshell, may include graphic, pictures or other materials that help the audience to better understand any stated points. For example, if your topic is 'Treuhand', a chart showing the number of companies 'owned' by the Treuhand during its existence may be a nice enhancement. After your 'Referat', you develop (entwickeln) your 'Referat' into a 8-10 page long term paper. At this language level, you term paper should ...
a) be written in German
b) double-space, font 'Times New Roman', size 12.
c) include a bibliography with at least 4 references of which 2 should be in printed form, e.g. library book, journal, etc. If none is available in our library, then a web-published newspaper article by an established German newspaper or weekly is acceptable.
d) You can use MLA (often used in literature) style or APA (used in many other disciplines) for your bibliography.
e) You may use footnotes or endnotes - not both - and be consistent.
f) last but not least, be original research written up only by you, the author. If you use other people's ideas or materials, please reference them.
